I make my living as a skydiving instructor, it's not what most people would call a normal job I know, but I wouldn't have it any other way...It keeps things exciting... well, when you jump as much as I do it loses most of it's thrill pretty quickly, but I never seem to get used to how beautiful the view is when I'm up there.

I feel really thankful for the way life is going currently, things just seem to be going great.

My wife and I both make good money, we have a lovely little girl, and life just seems to be all that I ever wanted it to be.

I woke up late one morning minutes before I was supposed to be at one of my classes.

I rushed to get dressed, gulped down a coffee as fast as I could, and made a mad dash for my gear that I'd need for the day.

Right as I went to pick up my pack it felt slightly lighter than usual but not enough for me to bat an eye about it.

I shouted goodbye to everybody and off I went.

As I was about to close the door I heard my daughter yell at me, it sounded like she said something about me "not forgetting my blankie"... whatever that meant.

I frantically turned around to look at her, getting stressed now at how late I was going to be.

"What's that honey?

Daddy's in a rush, you're going to have t---" I stopped mid-sentence...I stood there with the door wide open and stared.

What first caught my attention was my wife, she stood frozen in the kitchen with what I can only describe as an unreadable expression on her face... My eyes slowly lowered down to where my daughter was, she had a proud grin on her face as she stood there holding the garbage can open with all her strength.

"Daddy you can't forget your blankie before you go!" What she revealed to me was "My blanket"... sitting in the garbage... not attached like it usually is to the pack that now sat on my back.

The scissors that helped remove it sat right beside my wife's now shaking fingers.
