Gathering all the colors in their individual bowls, getting all my supplies together.
Patiently anticipating the tie dying process.
Once a year it comes around and I hungrily try to speed up the process.
Mom tells me to slow down or I’ll over boil it and ruin everything.
So, I take a few deep breathes, get out the sheet and proceed to lay everything out in a perfect rectangle.
Everything is easily accessible and ready to go.
Mom brings over the pot and hands me tongs so I can easily pull out the meat to color.
Excitement is bubbling over the top and I glance over at our participants.
Blood is everywhere, but we will deal with that after the coloring.
The blues, greens, yellows, pinks, and mixtures look so beautiful on the flesh.
I snag a couple to sample, and then put the rest in the basket so the delivery will be a beautiful presentation.
